Accommodation recommendations for a solo traveller

To Whom It May Concern,
I have been surfing the internet for many days looking for an appropriate place to stay for about five days in the middle of July.
This will be my first time to Italy and am looking for a place that is fairly close to a main town but that appears to have nature as a priority. I am an environmentalist/gardener/cook and would love to stay somewhere that has all of these as a focus.
I would also love to be central between Siena and Florence to be able to make day trips to these locations but be surrounded by history and small intimate villages.

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I can imagine your frustration, most places in the countryside cater to couples or very large groups; the singles have a tendency to get lost in between the cracks.

I suggest that you have a look at these two places - both of them require a car, but I believe they both would satisfy you green thumb and your cooking curiosity:
