Gluten Free and maybe Lactose Free

My family will be traveling to Florence in July 2018. Both of my daughters are Gluten Free. Are there any great suggestions for restaurants of any kind that are Gluten Free. One daughter is also Lactose Free. We understand that many of the Gelato shops will have a soy based gelato. Is that accurate?

Actually I think you will be surprised at how many places offer gluten free options on the menu.

And they are quite vocal about it, so as you roam about and select your restaurant you will se right away if they have a gluten free option.

Lactose free may be a bit more difficult, however I have noted that in Florence many of the "produzione proprio" - those who make their own gelato - seem to always have lactose free option.

I can recommend in particular a restaurant called Quinoa, close to the Duomo and the train station.
They are specifically a gluten free restaurant and offer several vegan choices.
I discovered it only this year and it has quikly become one of my favourites. The location is also very nice: it's set in the courtyard of palazzo and with the good weather of July is particularly nice eating outside.
