Greetings from Phuket, Thailand !

I have read with much interest your suggestion for a 7 days trip to Tuscany. we plan to visit that region end of July/beginning of August. It will be our first trip to Tuscany and will rent a car in Florence

I have made a tentative program as follows but have some practical questions:

Arrival Florence:
Wednesday July 26 - noon - Overnight in Florence
Thursday July: 27 Full day Florence
Friday July 28 : To Lucca and Pisa ( your suggestion indicates to Pisa first and then to Lucca;
Question: Is visiting Lucca first not more logical from an itinerary point of view coming from Florence ?
Friday July 28 overnight in Pisa
Saturday July 29: 1 day in Chianti region
Question: where to stay overnight in the Chianti region ?
Sunday July 30: Morning San Geminiano onwards to Montereggione ?
Question: Overnight stay in Montereggione ?
Monday July 31: To Siena and overnight in Siena
Tuesday August 1: Val D' Orica ?
Question: which city to stay overnight ?
Wednesday August 2nd: Arrezzo and Cartona
Question: which city to stay overnight ?
Thursday August 3rd: onwards to Rome

Any suggestions on the above tentative program would be highly appreciated.

Thank you so much for any advice

-> If you are planning on staying in Pisa at night then yes, it makes sense to go to Lucca first. However, my experience is that Lucca has a special atmosphere that you can enjoy most when relaxed. So if it is the last stop for the day you can really enter into the town atmosphere. I know it adds a few km to your car ride to Chianti -- but I would actually flip-flop and do San Gimignano and Volterra o Monteriggioni and then Chianti.

I would suggest two day as the B/B above - otherwise you are always packing your bags, it is central

Monday July 31: To Siena and overnight in Siena
Tuesday August 1: Val D' Orica ?
Question: which city to stay overnight ?
Siena!

Wednesday August 2nd: Arrezzo and Cartona
Question: which city to stay overnight ?
both are ideal - Cortona is smaller and very picturesque.
