We (5) are looking forward to spending June 6-13 in Tuscany. I have tickets for Orchestra in Florence 6/10. Hoping to stay near Siena and check out the petriolo thermae or other hot springs and do a cooking class in Siena with private group tour maybe 6/6-6/8 then heading to Florence (We will be in Rome from 5/31-6/6). Likely to take Train up from Rome to Siena. Where would you recommend staying at Siena? We could rent a car to get around this area if needed. Open to art classes, cooking classes, food experiences. Thanks so much!- The Colangelo's

Ciao! Sounds like a good plan, train to Siena is a bit convoluted, you would need to change trains in Chiusi so it can be done, just takes one of the slower regional trains. Otherwise faster train to Florence, rent car in Florence and head down to Siena.

I really enjoy Siena but it seems to me you want to be in the countryside just outside Siena and use that as your base. There are a lot of choices, in all directions. For more of a wine/vineyard setting, you would choose north of Siena in Chianti - Castellina in Chianti or Gaiole or Castelnuovo Berardenga are all good options. Take a look at Romitorio di Serelle, Agriturismo Vernianello or Rocca di Cispiano:

Otherwise south of Siena, you would be closer to the hot springs area, so you could take a look at Podere Cunina - https://www.tuscanyaccommodation.com/podere-cunina.html
Sarna Residence in San Quirico d'Orcia - https://www.tuscanyaccommodation.com/sarna-residence.html
Le Caggiole - https://www.tuscanyaccommodation.com/agriturismo-le-caggiole.html

If you'd like to stay in Siena or closer to Siena, take a look at both Hotel Athena: https://www.tuscanyaccommodation.com/hotel-athena.html and Villa Le Tortere - https://www.tuscanyaccommodation.com/villa-le-tortore.html
They both have parking so you can stay in the town and still have a car and use that for day trips.

Let me know if you want more ideas for places to stay or have any other questions!
