Where to stay north of FLorence

My sister & I are coming to Italy May/June 2023 & plan to stay about 5 nights in the Florence area. We decided to stay in the countryside instead of in town. Because of our itinerary that includes Bologna, Venice, Pisa & Florence, we would prefer to stay between Florence & Bologna & to the west of the A1. We really like the agritoursimo/farmhouse, maybe a castle, or just a cute villa. Any recommendations? TIA

Are you fully independent with your own car? That will make it easier for you to choose anything you find that you like.
How rural? The Mugello area to the north of Florence is really nice, especially in spring.
Take a look at Agriturismo La Topaia or at Le Due Volpi B&B - do either seem like the type of place you’d like? Let me know, as there are more places in the area I could recommend.
In the meantime, also look at https://www.tuscanyaccommodation.com/mugello/

Thank you very much for the info. We will be renting a car in FLorence for the 5 days we are in the area. SO we will be able to go anywhere. We have plans to go to Pisa, Venice, Bologna, Florence & the areas in between. I have looked at the 2 you recommeded & both look like what we are looking for.Something quiet, unique, ventrally located to the areas we want to get to. I'll look at any of your recommencdations.

Then also look at Fattoria il Lago in Dicomano, as well as anything in the area of Vicchio or Scarperia or closer to Barberino to be close to the A1. The area is very pretty and offers that sort of accommodation, so you will enjoy quiet and centrally located which makes great bases.
