ZTL Driving on the Red Line

Hi - Reading the ZTL zone map above - is it safe to say where the Red Outline is - that road you can drive on but if you turn right into the colored area (either A or B areas) then you are in the ZTL - but if you drive on the road (Borgo San Frediano and turn left onto Sant'Onofrio crossing Ponte Amerigo Vespucci) then you are driving along the route - and not in the ZTL.... Would that be right? The Hotel advised - Just follow Google Maps - but it was not consistent and said nothing of ZTL....

Yes, that's right - essentially driving right along the streets on the red outline, you are right on the border, you should not drive into the yellow areas (for reference, we are talking of the ZTL maps linked from this article: https://www.visitflorence.com/tourist-info/driving-in-florence-ztl-zone.html).
And yes, if driving in the Oltrarno area, the San Frediano street has a large piece not in the ZTL but the hardest part is arriving at the right intersections and not turning into the ZTL.
The map itself isn't super clear, because there are also some streets that allow you into the yellow colored areas without going into the ZTL, but those are quite precise routes.
Which hotel will you be driving to - I can look it up and check what the best route is.
I agree that Google Maps is not the best, as it does not caution against driving into the ZTL at all!
