Beach resorts between Florence and Rome

We'll be traveling from Florence to Rome in early September 2016. What are the best beach resorts on the west coast of Italy between Florence and Rome?

Buongiorno,

That is a long stretch of road!

Talamone, which is a park area right between the two regions, is beautiful but it is not the kind of beaches you would imagine in like in Miami (for example).

You could look at Agriturismo Valentina, which would give you a mix of the countryside yet fairly close to the beach.

Or you could also look at Agriturismo Melograno, located between sandy beaches and the Tuscan hills.

Another suggestion could be to take a ferry boat over to the Elba Island, which promises a unique Tuscan experience, beautiful views and beaches.
