Events of Interest in early September

We , (group of 6), will be in Tuscany for a total of 6 days (8/31-9/6). We will be based out of Montepulciano for 4 days , then Florence for 2. I am trying to find events that are taking place during that time. Possibly the Bravio delle Botti in Montepulciano, or the Pecorino event in Pienza. Any help would be great.

You might be too late for the Bravio delle Botti, as it is generally the last Sunday of August. For those wondering what it is, read more about it here: http://www.discovertuscany.com/montepulciano/bravio-delle-botti.html

The pecorino festival in Pienza might work out but I haven't found dates yet... I've written to the local tourism office to find out if a date has been set for this year, but it is in September generally.

What you can absolutely go see is the Giostra del Saracino in Arezzo which will be on September 1 - see the site for program and tickets: http://www.giostradelsaracino.arezzo.it/default.asp?id=go052
 
Festa del Cacio in Pienza 2013

Just got dates from the tourist office in Pienza - dates are the weekend of August 31-September 1 so it ends up working great for you!
