Parking at Piazzale Michelangelo

Hi Lourdes, we are looking to visit the above area in November. I am concerned about the limited parking. It seems the other parking near by is somewhat unreliable. I do see a small town just past the winding roads to the left of the statue and gardens. On Google I traverse down this area and see a green ZTL and small-town streets with parking near restaurants (RI Frullo Firenze). Is this advisable?

Ciao Patrick,
There is some parking the Piazzale itself, but as you've seen from pics, it is quite limited in the piazza itself. Are you planning on a stop there to just see the panorama or actually stopping to then go into Florence for the day?
Because there is more parking along the "viali" or the street beyond the piazzale on either direction, although you have to get off to park on some side streets - and, at the moment, there are lots of street work going on that you don't see on maps that might or not be there when you come in November. Last week I had to go to the area and I parked along this stretch of street: on Via delle Porte Sante.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/ykiseVdaB65UcUdk9 here's a waypoint. That street is a one way street so you need to take it from the far bottom and then go up back towards San Miniato. There is parking there and it is free. It is great for stopping to see the panorama - I would not recommend it for the entire day though, it is kind of far from the city center. And please don't go down to the end and try to park in the area you identified where the "rifrullo" restaurant is. It is within the ZTL and you cannot enter and park there. There is currently a lot of construction going on along streets because Florence is building a tram system - so a lot of parking, even for residents, is currently not available. I would suggest you head to one of the paid parking garages in the center - even if you enter the ZTL, the garage inside the ZTL will communicate your license plate to the authorities so you don't get fined. It will be easier and closer to all the sights. Yes, you will have to pay, but you have peace of mind about where you drive and park.
