Help with Seaside hotels

Hi,

Myself and my husband are planning a week in Tuscany in July. We have already booked the first three nights, first night in San Gimignano in an agriturismo and then on to Montalcino for 2 nights. After that we are heading to the coast and need help with suggestions for a smaller hotel/B & B.
We have previously stayed in Viareggio and liked it but thought that it lacked the "real" Italian feel. Our wish list would be......
1. A room with a balcony/sea view
2. On or very near the beach
3. A town with a choice of small but good restaurants

Buongiorno,

Your itinerary looks well thought out. If you really want to spend some time near the coast - even though July is pretty heavy tourist season, I wouldn’t cancel the Maremma out of your list. In fact, I think it will give you exactly what you are looking for and y’know if the weather isn’t good for the beach you are close enough to stop at one of the free thermal water pools.
