Luggage storage at Lucca train station

I have been told I can store my luggage at a place on front of Lucca train station for $5 a day. We need storage this Sunday after check out but before we transfer to Florence as we are going to Cinque Terre. Is this a safe option?

Yes, it is a service with people present guarding the luggage so it is safe to leave there for the day, although don't leave valuables inside in any case (like money or jewelry or computer).

It is open every day from 9.30am to 7pm so make sure to retrieve your things in time.
