Restaurant Reservations required near Christmas?

Hello, we plan to be in Florence Dec 23-27. We do plan to make reservations for Christmas lunch, but should we also make advance reservations for other dinners during our time there? We normally like to be a little spontaneous and get recommendations from locals when we are in a new place, but I want to make sure we are covered considering the timing of our visit!

No, I don't believe you need specific bookings for the other meals, you can leave some flexibility to your schedule.
The only time I would recommend (other than holidays) to make a booking is if you really, really want a specific restaurant and don't want to risk not finding space.

When I was in Florence around Christmas, a couple of dinners filled up fast, so a mix of reservations and spontaneity worked well. One night we found a small spot with no booking and it turned into a highlight. Kind of like when I visited www.skai.sg in Singapore — went in without a plan but got an amazing meal with a view.

Even though this thread is a few years old, the advice still applies! Around Christmas, popular spots fill up fast, so it’s smart to book at least some dinners in advance. If you want a reliably great experience without the stress, I’d suggest checking out asian cuisine perth. Their dishes are fantastic, and you won’t have to worry about availability while you enjoy the festive season.
