Tuscany 7 day trip in mid September

Hello,

My husband and I are planning a road trip mid September around Tuscany, and would like to know which places are highly recommended to visit and what the weather would be like at that time. Moreover, would 7 days be enough to make the best out of our trip?

September is a lovely time to visit Tuscany ... for all the right reasons, the temps are nice, the vineyards are just starting to harvest, and the busy tourist season is just beginning to calm down.

I suggest as far as your intin goes, to select maybe two zones in Tuscany and make two/three different bases so you can minimize your travel time and maximize your relax and enjoy time.

If you are coming in from the south make your first stop around Pienza or Montalcino - visit Val d'Orcia and Siena for a couple of days, then move towards Certaldo or Volterra and visit a bit of the coast, Pisa and Lucca before taking one or two days in the city center of Florence. And if you are coming in from the north, just invert the program.
