Walking train to Galleria de Academia

I am leaving a cruise ship in Genoa, riding the train to Florence, SMN and want to know if it is feasible to walk from the train station to the Academy to see David.

the walking distance from Santa Maria Novella train station to the Accademia Museum is just 1.1 km according to Google maps, so it's definitely doable and it should take you around 15 minutes:
