I am assuming you will not have a car, you will be looking at using the train service. You can check the travel times at: (I put in a departure station and arrival for your date.)
Just a quick note, the station Venezia Mestre is actually located outside of Venice - the station closest to the historic city center is Venezia S. Lucia.
