Which area to stay in for 5 days of hiking?

Hello! We'd like to stay in one location and have access to a number of moderate 10-25km trails over a number of days so that we can get to know one area of Tuscany. Where would you suggest where we would see a variety of landscapes and experiences? Thank you.

How much are you willing to do on any given day as far as elevation? If just hills, I suggest Chianti or Val d'Orcia, there are many marked trails over the hills on the white unpaved roads, although there often isn't too much tree cover so I would suggest they are better done in spring, winter or fall. In the summer, I would suggest going up... Casentino, Abetone, and Apuan Alps would be great bases, lots of trails and walking to be done :).
