Weather in Late September - October

Hi! Can someone please give me advice on traveling during late September through mid to late October? I’m reading it can be cold and rainy in October. We’d love to visit the wineries and Cinque Terre in addition to the lovely sights in Florence. Thanks in advance!

Late September and October are great months to visit! It's been a few years since I would describe October as cold. We did get a few rainy days last October, but temperatures stayed mild. I would recommend you just plan to dress in layers to be prepared for the shifts of temp from the morning to mid-day, if it rains you can buy a cheap poncho or umbrella here. Considering how the temps are this summer, I would welcome some rain now :D

Thank you! I figure the weather is similar to NYC that time of year, but wanted to be sure 😊

No problem! I have to say weather has become more unpredictable: hotter earlier, warmer in the winter, when it rains it pours so we're also going through drought this summer as many other parts of the world. Not great from that point of view! But, in general, those months have always been some of the best because weather tends to be cooling down but not yet cold. We have a gradual shift down, not drastic.
