Looking to do a nice resort on the beach in the Tuscany area for July

We will be staying in Impruneta and are looking to to do a couple of days at a nice beach area (perfer less crowded beaches)then we are heading to Rome to fly home. The other choice is heading toward Venice and maybe one night there and one night on Lido. Love any input have never traveled to Italy.

Good occasion to visit Maremma!

Hello,

As you have to drive down south to reach Rome and fly home, this is the best occasion to head to Maremma and explore its beautiful beaches and sea. Maremma is an area that extends across southwestern Tuscany and it offers gorgeous rural landscapes but also clear blue waters and splendid beaches.

There are a lot of places worthy of being seen but in my point of view the Mount Argentario is one of the best. I think it might be the ideal solution for spending two days and enjoy a lovely part of Tuscany, quite different from the area around Florence.

Mount Argentario is attached to Tuscany by 3 patches, it is almost an island. Two are the main towns on the coast of Argentario: Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole. You can choose either as the base for your stay, since they are both splendid places.

Otherwise, another highly recommended locality on the coast in Maremma is Follonica, its beaches are breathtaking: Cala Violina, La Polveriera, Carbonifera, Torre Mozza etc... all are a guarantee for a beautiful stay on the Tuscan coast! Here you can find further information about Follonica. For example, its sea has been winning the European Blue Flag for 11 years!

Check the top beaches on the Tuscan coast, you’ll notice that the Coast of Maremma has more sandy beaches than the others.

Also second the recommendation of heading toward the coast on your way south to Rome. Venice is nice but in the opposite direction and does not offer the same type of "beach" experience. Venice is always really crowded as well....

While you'll find a good number of tourists in July in Maremma, it is a much larger area and you won't feel that it is too crowded.
One place you could head to for both the sun and culture (Etruscan ruins and necropolis) is to the Gulf of Baratti near Piombino - read more about it here: Beach of Baratti in Tuscany

You can stay near Follonica at a place such as Villaggio Orizzonte or closer to San Vincenzo at Riva degli Etruschi.
