Hello, our plans have changed again. I thought I had it all planned.......we are arriving September 21 and have one week. We need to be in Venice on September 27th through October 4th. On October 4th we have another couple who will be joking us for 7 Days.

The first week I would like to maybe visit wineries, enjoy the country side, do a few cooking lessons. Mostly just experience the Tuscany hospitality. The 2nd week we are in Venice and will be touring that area for a week.

The 3rd week when our friends join us we would like to see all the touristy things as our friends want to see as much as they can.

We would like to see Lucca, Cinque Terre, Florence, Pisa and what ever else we can see in the 7 days our friends are with us. We will have a car the 1st week and 3rd week. We would like a place (area) that we can stay a week at a time. I am not into unpacking every few days. Your help and comments are appreciated. Thank you.

Places to Stay

Hello

since you have the luxury of being in Tuscany for two full weeks with a natural break in the middle (yeah! Venice) I would suggest that you take the first week and go a bit further in Tuscany towards Val d'Orcia - and plan your trips for that week in the local area - Siena, Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano as well as soooo many other beautiful places. Try this link for some more ideas:

On your third week, it sounds as if most of the sites you want to hit are further up north in Tuscany, especially a trip up to Cinque Terre so you might want to look around the San Gimignano or just outside of Florence. This will give you less road time and a whole different facet of Tuscany to explore - starting with the vineyards, markets, small towns and events. This map gives you a better idea of some solutions:
