Is it possible to prearrange a taxi for pick up at Piazzale Michaelangelo? We are a group of 6 seniors, one in wheelchair, driving up for the day from Montepulciano. Previously, have had good experience parking at Piazzale Michaelangelo, but obtaining a taxi after arriving there was very difficult and time consuming. (No working local cell phone with us). Would like to arrange a van type taxi for pick up at Piazzale Michaelangelo to go into center. Any suggestions??

Lourdes, thank you for this information. is there a way to make the arrangements online, or can it only be done by phone? (btw, do not need the taxi to be wheelchair accessible, just large enough to carry the collapsed wheelchair, the occupant is minimally mobile and can transfer from the chair to the van.) You can't book more than 3 days ahead of time, and booking is by phone or text message - this is the website for the main taxi company - http://www.4242.it/
I would suggest making sure to request a large taxi that will fit the wheelchair in the back as well as being able to handle 6 passengers so that they send the larger sort of van models they have.
