My wife and I are just starting to plan a trip to Tuscany for next year. My first step was to start looking into lodging. My wife has some health issues that limit some lodging options. I noticed that a lot of the places I have looked at online have wood fireplaces. That is a major problem for my wife. Gas or electric is fine, but she cannot be around a wood burning fireplace or stove. Other strong scents, such as mustiness, chemicals or perfumes also trigger her. We run into this often, even traveling with the US. Stairs can also be an issue, but less so. She can handle some stairs, mostly for going in and/or out of the unit. Definitely want to avoid anything that would require frequent use of stairs (like a two floor unit). She would prefer a first floor unit or an elevator, but could deal with some limited stairs. Any advice, recommendations, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
